Costumes Notes
I think my favourite fabric may be taffeta. I love the shiny and crinkly and the variety of duo-tones available. This dress is dedicated to my love affair with taffeta and apparently my love of roasting in the sun as taffeta doesn't breathe, at all.
Most of this costume was made from a series of modified patterns with a few original bits thrown in. The design also expanded as time went on and pieces were added and removed. (The sleeves and waist-cincher weren't in the original design, but a small top-hat was.)
Akakuro has had many years of use and will probably have many more, just as soon as I redo the waist-cincher which hadn't weathered the passage of time well.
